Working from raw data or CAD models in a variety of formats including Catia V5, the Future AM team understands the requirements of specialist products, material integrity and testing from initial design and materials specification, through solid modelling and manufacture to final CMM inspection by direct comparison to the original CAD data.
Sizes of finished products are very diverse - from miniature telecommunications and medical components through complex structural 3 dimensional forms of up to 2 metres from a single piece of material to larger machined fabrications.
Strict adherence to delivery dates is vital to successful sales. All three Future AM factories share one upper level management system, operating a common MRP2 production scheduling system on a common network.
Future AM ISO quality systems have been approved by the Aerospace and Electronics industries to ensure common quality standard across the various disciplines. System details are available on request from the group’s Quality Assurance Department.
A massive array of production and testing equipment, combined with a workforce of multi-skilled engineers, ensure that work is carried out within specification, schedule and budget. In-process testing includes vibration, strain, friction, hydraulic pressure and flow, low magnetic permeability, liquid, gas and air flow.
